-         Duties: Assist in the development, maintenance and update of training materials IAW the Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE) Manual. The Civil Military Operations Specialists will:

 

-         Develop and execute population, local civilian leader and civil affairs team actions in simulated military exercises.

-         Assist in the development of exercise scenarios in collaboration with MCTOG staff. 

-         Study training objectives and developments in the operational environment to determine potential exercise elements. 

-         Receive and develop civil military operations operational concepts and execute these concepts against the training audience in simulated exercises. 

-         Emphasize realism and plausibility in generating exercise events, and will employ various media, including text, video, audio, still photography, simulation software and live action in inject products. 

-         Create injected civil affairs and intelligence products representative of typical operational reporting pertaining to the populace, essential services, governance, economics and local civilian leadership. 

-         Enable the synchronization and integration of exercise content with MCTOG staff, Joint partners, and interagency contributors to ensure the seamless depiction of enemy activities and master events to the training audience. 

-         Role play the actions of civil affairs team members, PRT representatives or local civilian leaders during exercises as needed to support exercise training objectives.

 

Requirements:

-         Operational experience in Iraq or Afghanistan as a civil affairs team member, USAID or Department of State representative, or Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) member

-         Facility for cultural, governance, essential services, economic development and civil affairs appropriate to the modern operational environment.

-         Demonstrate creativity in tactical and operational concepts and the ability to portray plausible population and governance considerations during exercises.

Preferred:

-         Possess a Bachelor’s degree

-         Strong open source intelligence skills, with the ability to conduct research . 

-         Familiarity with master scenario event development, exercise synchronization, and expeditionary military operations.   

-         Experience with exercises (e.g., simulated, force-on-force, or tabletop)

 

Security Clearance. Must be eligible for a secret security clearance.
